New Intern

I started last week as the new intern at Marketing Strategies Inc. I was lucky to meet Denise at a rotary lunch that I almost didn't go to, and a week later I was working here. I love what I'm doing so far and this insight into the world of public relations will hopefully help me decide if this career path is for me.

In my first week, I drafted press releases and educational articles for clients and sorted pictures for one of our campaigns. The first project I had was for one of our pro bono clients, the North Myrtle Beach Humane Society. They are hosting their second annual Whiskers, Wags, & Wine Fundraiser on June 6th from 6:00pm-9:00pm. My educational articles have been on skin cancer and hurricane readiness, both very relevant topics as summer quickly approaches!

A few quick facts about me: Born in raised in South Carolina, I graduated from Santa Clara University last year (March 2010) with a degree in Political Science and a minor in International Studies. My first job out of college was working as a regional field director for one of the most competitive US Congressional Races of the 2010 election cycle.

I am very grateful for Marketing, Strategies, Inc. for giving me this wonderful opportunity. I look forward to a fun-filled and rewarding summer!
